Wildung and Christy rule Viking Double dip

Alexandria, MN (May 15th, 2010) - Craig Christiansen once again proved why he is one of the best in the best in the business picking up his first WISSOTA Modified victory of the season Saturday night at Viking Speedway. Defending WISSOTA Late Model National Champion Jeff Wildung reigned victorious in the division's A-main while Jon Stepan led wire to wire in the WISSOTA Super Stock finale. Travis Saurer made a late race pass to score the win in the WISSOTA Midwest Modified finale while Ryan Buer stayed perfect on the year in the WISSOTA Street Stock division. The night started off with two makeup features which were won by Zach Johnson (WISSOTA Late Models) and Dale Mathison (WISSOTA Modifieds). Fans, pit crew members, and drivers alike convened at the steeply banked 1/2 mile for some great WISSOTA Amsoil Dirt Track Series Racing, Viking Speedway style.
The first feature of the night belonged to the WISSOTA Midwest Modified division with 24 drivers making the call. Although Matt Weisman led the first 12 laps from his pole position, Travis Saurer was able to make the winning pass with three laps remaining to score the win. Weisman held a great run in the second spot followed by Cale Arneson, Brett Hoium, and Marshal Tofte.
The WISSOTA Street finale proved to be a good one with Tim Jodsaas leading early on. Jodsaas led the first eight laps before Ryan Buer rallied from his fourth row starting position to take the lead on lap nine. Buer negotiated the final three laps without any mistakes picking up his third win in as many weeks for the WISSOTA Streets. Jason Babcock, Andrew Bangsund, Justin Vogel, and Travis Berends were also members of the top five as well.
Jon Stepan dominated led all 20 laps turning in a dominating performance in the WISSOTA Super Stock A-main picking up his first feature win of the season. Todd Carter battled with Larry Lund for most of the race picking up the second spot with Mike Peterson, Ron Host and 11th starter Shawn Nolan joining the front duo in the top five finishing order.
Despite heavy pressure from Jason Thoennes, Craig Christiansen reigned victorious in the WISSOTA Modified Feature event. Christiansen blasted off from his outside row one starting position scoring his first feature win of the season. Thoennes, Jay McDonald, Danny Bayer, and Nate Heinrich were all members of the top five as wack'ell for the WISSOTA Modifieds. Dale Mathison scored the WISSOTA Modified makeup feature win earlier in the evening.
The final event of the evening belonged to the WISSOTA Late Models with Jeff Wildung holding off a late charge from Zach Johnson to score the win in the division's A-main, feature event. Johnson had another great run coming home second with Ricky Weiss third, Corey Nelson fourth, and Scott Greer fifth. Zach Johnson picked up the victory in the WISSOTA Late Model makeup feature earlier in the show for the WISSOTA Late Model division.
